Mission Development and Marketing Coordinator
Rita Pedulla Slominski is the oldest daughter of Edith Stein Foundation Founder and President, Dr. Dominic Pedulla, and Vice President, Bernadette Pedulla. She grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, the eldest of 9 children. Being part of a strong, Catholic family and the daughter of both a doctor and a nurse, she has been formed with in-depth knowledge of the many facets of women’s health. Growing up with a steadfast leadership and example in the area of healthcare, Rita developed a passion for defending the dignity of women and of life itself.
Rita, a Franciscan University alumnus, began volunteering for Birth Choice of Oklahoma (Edmond), as well as taking part in, on campus, pro-life and political student groups. Wishing to pursue her desire to protect and promote life, as well as further an existing interest in the legal field, Rita served as legal intern for Oklahoma County District Attorney, David Prater in 2011. Armed with the experience and knowledge gained from her volunteer and professional work, Rita sought a career in the legal field upon graduating from Franciscan in 2011 and worked for a legal firm, which primarily specializes in oil and gas law. Rita brings her experience in the legal and medical fields to the Edith Stein Foundation, as she desires to further the foundation’s valiant effort of safeguarding the authentic dignities and rights of women and the fullest form of the pro-life cause.
Rita currently resides in Edmond with her husband of one year, Jonathan, a software engineer for Lockheed Martin, whom she met during her time in college. They are expecting their first child in August, 2012.
